Abstract
The use of satellite television in Finland is considered in relation to its geographical position, and international cultural, educational and linguistic exchange. The use of satellite TV in schools and universities is increasing in a broad range of subjects, despite problems with copyright. However, the training of teachers lags behind and the use of the new media tests the abilities of teachers in many ways.
