Pages 83-86 | Published online: 09 Jul 2006

Abstract

The United Nations Conference in Rio de Janeiro (1992), in spite of its evident limitations and its unrealized hopes, represented the consolidation at world level of a concept of development seen as a global and integrated process involving individuals and society and capable of satisfying human needs and ambitions. INTERMÓN is an international aid organization concerned with this issue.
