Abstract

As educational pedagogy and technology continue to advance, colleges and universities are finding better ways to prepare preservice teachers for real classrooms. Faculty in the School of Education at the College of Charleston have created a bridge between preservice teachers and teachers in local classrooms for the exchange of creative ideas. This bridge is a practicum which incorporates student‐designed hypermedia lessons created with HyperStudio as one component of a preservice technology course. Within this practicum, preservice teachers collaborate electronically with K‐12 teachers to create HyperStudio lessons that are instructionally sound and applicable in real classrooms. Creativity is fostered as a result of the development and application of the hypermedia lessons.
