HANS SCHNEIDER

PROFESSOR DR HANS-JOCHEN SCHNEIDER is a co-president and co-founder of ACTIS and coordinator of the ESPRIT II project, CMSO (CIM for multi-supplier operations). ACTIS, a leading German software house in the field of PPC systems for the automotive supply industry, and a subsidiary of the French software house SLIGOS, is the main contractor for this project, which consists of a consortium of 14 partners from seven countries. Prof. Schneider received a degree in mathematics from the University of Stuttgart in 1963 and his PhD in 1967. He held various posts at the university until becoming a professor at the Technical University of Berlin in 1975. He was a co-founder of ACTIS in 1976, and left the university in Berlin to become a co-president of the company in 1987. In addition to his responsibilities at ACTIS, Prof. Schneider has been available as a consultant to numerous organizations (industrial companies, banks, insurance companies, public administration institutions, the German and foreign governments, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization etc.) and has been an editor or editorial board member for several scientific journals.

MICHAEL MATTHIESEN

MICHAEL MATTHIESEN of ACTIS in Stuttgart GmbH, is project manager of the CMSO project-CIM for Multi-Supplier Operations-launched three years ago within the European programme ESPRIT II (European Strategic Programme for Research and Development in Information Technology) with the objective of using IT solutions to improve the competitiveness of the European automotive industry. ACTIS, a leading German software house in the field of PPC systems for the automotive supply industry, is the main contractor for this project, which consists of a consortium of 14 partners from seven countries. Mr Matthiesen came to ACTIS from Philips Telecommunication and Data Systems Netherlands in Apeldoorn, where he spent four years as a systems engineer working on a software project for the development of a fourth generation language, as well as leading a group responsible for the integration of work stations based on MS-DOS and OS/2 with UNIX systems. A former student of the Technical University of Berlin, Mr Matthiesen graduated in computer science in 1984.

WOLFGANG SCHABER

WOLFGANG SCHABER of ACTIS GmbH, is segment leader of 'Integrated EDI Architecture' within the CMSO project-CIM for Multi-Supplier Operations-launched three years ago within the European programme ESPRIT II with the objective of using IT solutions to improve the competitiveness of the European automotive industry. ACTIS, a leading German software house in the field of PPC systems for the automotive supply industry, is the main contractor for this project. Before joining ACTIS, Mr Schaber spent four years at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO), Stuttgart working on office system research projects, which included participation in the ESPRIT I project 231-DOEOIS (design and operational evaluation of office information servers). Mr Schaber graduated from the University of Stuttgart in 1988 with a degree in computer science.
