Production lot sizing model with insufficient production capacity

Abstract

A mathematical model is developed for determining the optimal number of batches for the production lot sizing problem where the production capacity is lower than the annual demand requirement. Setup time is included and it is assumed that consumption begins only after the entire batch is produced. The model is illustrated through an example.
