Abstract
Summary A field study was conducted in Poland to test the effectiveness of the Medication Management Module on schizophrenic patients' knowledge and skill acquisition as compared with educational classes and a control group with no education at all. In a sample of 97 schizophrenic patients, participation in the Medication Management Module produced greater acquisition of knowledge about pharmacotherapy and medication management skills than participation in a less structured educational class. Both experimental conditions brought about more knowledge than a control group with no education at all.
