Liberalising the mixed economy of radio

Abstract

Despite the arguments over privatisation, ownership is not always the key to control. Radio and television have both been operating for some years in a ‘mixed’ ‐ and regulated ‐ economy of public and private. That is where some of the recently privatised industries have got to. Do the recent green paper proposals for liberalising radio point in the direction they might eventually move?
