Case Study: the Evaluation of a Model for the Production of Video Resources in Science and MathematicsSUMMARY

The Centre for Teaching Mathematics at the University of Plymouth is interested in the development of new materials and teaching strategies that will interest and motivate students in their learning of mathematics. The use of video is an important part of the strategy. In a previous paper the authors proposed a model for the design of video resources for the teaching of aspects of mathematics. This model has been used in the production of two video modules for a new GCE A‐level course in Mathematics. This paper describes the results of an evaluation of two video modules and gives a critical appraisal of the model.
