Summary
The human peripheral blood of three healthy donors was irradiated in vitro with small x-ray doses: 5, 10, 15, 30 and 50 R. 1500 cells were scored at each dose level for aberrant chromosomes, dicentric and ring chromosomes and acentric fragments. A significantly higher number of chromosomal aberrations was found only after doses of 30 and 50 R. There was no significant variation in response between cells of all three donors.
Over the range of doses used, the dose-response curve(s) appeared to be linear.
