The authors of the above paper wish to acknowledge the contribution of Professor Alan Beattie of Lancaster University to the original research reportFootnote1 upon which the paper draws. In the above paper we refer to “a team of four external researchers” and note that “each academic member of the team investigated one of the [four] localities” (pp. 234, 235). Professor Beattie was the fourth academic member of the team (alongside the three authors of the paper). He carried out the fieldwork and writing-up for the Cleator Moor case-study, and contributed to the overall plan of research, the development of the Delphi methodology for the study, and the extraction of conclusions and recommendations. Professor Beattie notes that he bears no responsibility for the interpretation of the study made in the above paper.
