Abstract
The demographic, legal and clinical characteristics of all patients from the North-West Region currently detained in conditions of maximum security arc described. The placement needs of this group, currently and in two years' time as estimated by the patient's responsible medical officer (RMO) and by a research panel, are discussed and the differences between the RMOs' and panel's opinions are briefly explored.
