Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of operating parameters on lead removal from wastewater by phosphogypsum. Batch adsorption studies were carried out to examine the effect of these parameters on lead removal from wastewater. The operating parameters investigated were adsorbent dosage, contact time, pH and initial lead concentration. Adsorption isotherms were modelled with the help of both Langmuir and Freundlich formulae. The kinetics of the adsorption process, which is important in the design of waste treatment systems, was also studied.
