Abstract

After a brief review of various methods for the analysis of sulphide, the authors present a development on the indirect iodometric method. This method consists, first, in an acidification of the sample under an inert atmosphere. Then the given off H2S is trapped as ZnS in a Zinc acetate solution before being fixed by iodine. A back titration with thiosulphate gives the sulphide concentration.
