Abstract
In this study, we propose a method leading to a mathematical model suitable for predicting optimal conditions for the coagulation‐floculation of surface waters. The coagulation tests have been carried out using synthetic waters with simplified characteristics. The coefficients of the postulated polynomial quadratic model have been calculated from a Doehlert lattice. The results show that this methodology is correctly adapted to this kind of study. In the selected experimental domain, the drawn up model leads to a well fitted working conditions for the coagulation‐floculation process: coagulant dose, residual turbidity, decantation time and stirring parameters.
