Abstract
Developing methods to motivate practitioners to undertake continuing education is a general problem.
Successful continuing education programs should be based on principles of adult learning — they should provide a means for doctors to recognize and assess their own learning needs, emphasize practical and behavioural aspects of the topics, provide a range of options for learning and provide continuing support to sustain behavioural change.
