Sextus Empiricus: Against the Physicists

Machuca, Diego E. (2014) Richard Bett (trans.): Sextus Empiricus: Against the Physicists. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2012, pp. xxiv + 178. £57, $99.00 (hb). ISBN 978-0-521-51391-3. British Journal for the History of Philosophy. http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/09608788.2014.928262

When the above book review was first published online, the Greek word ἐνάργεια on line 107 features twice. The sentence should actually read as follows:

“Third, Bett renders ἐνάργεια, the cognate noun of ἐναϱγές (evident, plain), as ‘plain experience’…”

This has now been corrected.

Taylor & Francis apologises for this error.
