Use of impulse radar as a method for the non‐destructive testing of concrete slabs

Impulse radar is now a viable means of locating and identifying individual structural characteristics, this paper takes concrete slabs as an example, and discusses how impulse radar is used to test the parameters of density, thickness and steel placement

Pages 152-156 | Published online: 08 May 2007

The paper shows that Impulse Radar provides engineers and associated professions with an invaluable non‐destructive testing tool and when used in conjunction with other methods of testing, Impulse Radar has an important role to play throughout the complete lifecycle of a structure.
