Abstract
The psychopathology of the eating disorders is comprised both of nonspecific features such as anxiety symptoms or depression which are to be found in other psychological disorders, and of those behaviors and attitudes which are specific to this group of disorders. The latter include disturbances in behaviors related to eating and weight control, and characteristic attitudes regarding food, eating, and body shape and weight. This article summarizes the more commonly used methods for the assessment of the specific psychopathology of eating disorders.
