Abstract

This article describes the principles and techniques of strategic solution focused therapy, an approach that emphasizes 'doing what works and changing what doesn't'. strategic therapy and solution focused therapy, the strategic solution focused therapist helps clients to clarify the primary complaint, to elaborate a solution scenario and to evaluate attempted solutionssuccessful and unsuccessful. Three-part interventions are designed to provide validation, compliments, and suggestions to amplify what works and to change what does not.
