By Richard Kirkham

Pages 81-86 | Published online: 23 Aug 2006

Notes

1. The proposed Regulatory Reform Order will amend the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967, the Local Government Act 1974 and the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993.

2. This process is enabled by a so‐called ‘Henry VIII’ clause within the Regulatory Reform Act, which allows a Regulatory Reform Order to be approved by Parliament. This, in turn, amends primary legislation.

3. In this case, where the purpose of the Order is to remove unnecessary administrative burdens on regulatory bodies.
