Editorial problems and a breakdown in the supply of decisions from the Commissioners' office to the publishers have led to an unacceptably long gap since the last of these pieces, for which apologies are due. The twilight of the supplementary benefit scheme, or rather its afterlife, has continued to supply important decisions, although only a few of them will have a sustained importance under the income support scheme. Less emphasis is given to decisions where the point is limited to supplementary benefit.
