Abstract

This issue of ‘Selected Cases' covers the period 1 November 1995 to 29 February 1996. It contains 15 reports, from a total of 92 investigations completed during this period, together with a report on one case which was completed in April 1996. During this period the Ombudsman also laid before Parliament a special report on the Child Support Agency (Investigation of complaints against the Child Support Agency - HC 20). The Department of Education and Employment had 7 cases (of which 6 were upheld), and the Department of the Environment had 5 cases (of which 2 were upheld). The Home Office, the Lord Chancellor’s Department and the Department of Transport had four cases each. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office had two cases each, and the remaining ten departments and other bodies each had one case.
