Abstract
Fungal rots induced principally by Gloeosporium musarum and Fusarium roseum are responsible for much deterioration in the quality of Jamaican bananas. Thiabendazole and benomyl at 200 and 300 ppm active ingredient respectively, gave good control when used as post-harvest dips; moderate control was obtained with Dithane M-45 and Maneb Z at 2000 ppm. Practical considerations in using these fungicides are discussed.
