Seed Production Potentialities of Common Weeds of Dharwar

Abstract

Investigation on seed production potentialities of weeds of Dharwar was carried out at the Agricultural College Farm, during January 1969. Both the parasitic weeds Striga and Orobanche showed high seed production, Striga producing as many as 380,000 seeds per plant followed by Orobanche with 230,000 seeds per plant. Among the weeds studied, Desmodium diffusum produced the least (425) seeds per plant.
