Pages 27-28 | Published online: 06 Jul 2009

Abstract

The problems of mixed crop subsistence farming and the results of introducing high yielding palatable food crop varieties are outlined. More ecological, agronomic and socio-economic information is needed. A new type of international research institute dealing with small-scale mixed food cropping is suggested to provide the basis for improvement in subsistence farming.
