A logitmodel was used to analyse the factors influencing the adoption of plant protection measures by castor growers in Andhra Pradesh, India against semilooper, Achoea janata L. (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) and shoot and capsule borer Dichocrosis punctiferalis Guen. (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae). The changes in probability as influenced by the changes in different factors were also determined. Farm-related characteristics such as per cent castor area, and socio-economic characters, such as schooling, expected loss and credit, significantly influenced the farmers' decision to adopt plant protection measures.
