Pages 341-355 | Received 23 Jul 2002, Published online: 03 Apr 2008

Abstract

Biological weapons have a long and eventful history. Five deaths have taken place in the USA after September 11 due to the Anthrax infection. India is under constant threat of terrorism for a decade or so. It is how time that we sit up and take note of the possible threat of bioterrorism. This paper examines the impact of a biological threat in general and proposes a conceptual model for risk assessment in the Indian context.
