Prevalence of Dirofilaria immitis in Dogs of Fars Province of Iran

The study was carried out for one year to observe the prevalence of Dirofilaria immitis in dogs of Fars province of Iran. Out of a total of 114 dogs examined, 11(9.65%) were found positive for this infection. The native Iranian dogs showed highest (18.5%) infection. There was no difference in the susceptibility to this infection, in long and short-haired animals.
