Out of 235 domestic dogs from Morogoro municipality and Mgeta area in Morogoro region coproscopically screened for gastrointestinal parasitic infections, 174 (74%) were found positive for one or the other parasite. Ancylostoma caninum was the most common parasite (72%). Protozoan parasites and other helminths were less prevalent (<5%). The prevalence of gastrointestinal parasitism was significantly higher (P<0.05) in dogs <6 months (puppies) than in adults with no sex effect.
