Abstract

Raza, A., Khan, S. A., Raza, F. K., Saeed, M. A. and Bashir, I. N. 1997. Effects of vitamin A on growth traits, immunoregulatory organs and immune response in broiler chicken. J. Appl. Anim. Res., 12: 81–88.

The effect of different dietary levels of vitamin A (deficient, recommended and excess) on weight gain, development of lymphoid organs, hematological values, humoral response to NDV, cellular response to tuberculin and phagocytic activity of neutrophils of broiler chickens was studied. Vitamin A supplementation 20,000 IU/kg feed (excess level) had beneficial effects on all parameters studied except hematological values as compared to deficient and recommended levels.
