Abstract

Belewu, M.A. and Akinladenu, H.A 1998. A note on the apparent digestibility of rice husk and hatchery by-product meal based diets fed to west African dwarf goats. J. Appl. Anim. Res., 13: 197–200.

Wiesi African dwarf goats (12; 7.5±0 7kg; 8–10month) were divided into three groups at random and assigned to three concentrate feeds in which rice husk was replaced by hatchery by-product meal (HBPM) at 0, 25 and 50% levels (A, B, C groups). Inclusion of HBPM at either level improved intake and digestibility of dry matter and most of the proximate principles. This diet met maintenance requirement of a 10 kg male goat.
