The purpose of this study is to identify the correlation between the musical interests and achievements motivate of prospective music teachers. The study was designed as a correlative survey. The study was conducted on a total of 829 first, second, third, and fourth grade prospective music teachers who studied during the 2011-2012 academic year in Turkey. The data were collected through the Musical Interest Scale and the Achievement Motive Scale. They were analysed via correlation and regression analyses.
