A variable production scheduling policy for deteriorating items

Abstract

In this paper, an economic production scheduling policy for variations in production scheduling with deterioration items and shortages, where demand and production rates are deterministic is developed. The solutions of the model here is to determine the optimal number of production cycles and optimal replenishment schedule over a finite planning horizon in order to keep the total relevant cost as low as possible.
