Abstract

The fitting of probability distributions depend on many factors such as type of data, nature of probability distribution of the variable. The fitting of probability distributions and testing significance of the fitting of the distributions are needed for poultry science and poultry management today. The main aim of this study is to fit the probability distributions to simulated data to economic broiler traits. It is found that Pearson’s type VII distribution fits well to the body weight at day old trait and Pearson’s type I distribution fits well to the feed consumption during 6–8 weeks age trait. However, normal distribution fits well to the body weight at 6-week age and at 8-week age traits.
