Pictures circulating on the Internet are mostly in JPEG format. It is important for digital forensic measure to provide evidences of illegal distribution. In this paper, a digital feature retrieval scheme for JPEG images is proposed to avoid disseminating unlawful JPEG images. The scheme could extract JPEG binary data at the packet level using a DC feature to search for suspicious files. According to the experiment results, our method could reduce the storage volume of JPEG image files and retrieve effective features quickly from the network.
