Abstract

Relative survival estimation is an important treatment effect, comaparison tool for cancer research. In addition to the standard statistical procedure for survival analysis like-Kaplan Meier estimate and Cox proportional hazard, the application of relative survival can provide an alternative and supportive statistical inference about data. This article is aimed to explore the application of relative survival in cancer treatment effect comparison. The Bayesian extension of the relative survival analysis is opted to illustrate the application. A data set of stage four lung cancer patients’ treated with metronomic chemotherapy is considered in this study. The adopted model can be considered in near future for standard treatment efect comparison.
