Video popularity prediction based on fuzzy inference system

&

Abstract

In fast developing era, online content available on the social media systems plays an incredibly significant part in a range of online applications to improve the profits and to increase the audience of the content. The future popularity of the online content can be correlated and predicted with the help of its historical popularity. Distinct efforts have been made towards the prediction of the long term popularity using its past popularity. In this paper, fuzzy based approach is proposed for predicting the future popularity of the online content using the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters. This approach provides a clear degree of popularity gain by each video instead of providing popularity at each instance. Proposed approach will benefit the users and analyzers to get a crisp result of the overall popularity of the video under analysis.
