Medical tourism: A global industry

Abstract

The concept of individuals travelling in a foreign country to get medical treatment in the search of highly equipped medical facilities, medical care at lower cost is referred as Medical Tourism. The significant growth in the seeking medical facilities abroad can be seen in past few years. There is not much research work done in the field of medical tourism. This paper portrays a comparison and analysis of medical tourism and professional medical practices available in different nations across the globe along with various benefits and risks associated with such medical practices when availed abroad. Exploration of medical tourism in India and detailed analysis of the same is done in the paper with infamous treatments and benefits.
