Abstract
This study uses a questionnaire-based survey to deepen understanding about farmers’ personal and household characteristics and about their cognition about and satisfaction with forest reform policy. 415 farmers in Sanming City, Fujian Province were selected as the study sample. A binary logistic regression model was used to analyse possible influencing factors. The results indicate that a series of factors may have significant influence on forest rights disputes, such as the farmers’ ages and education levels, occupations, household sizes, the numbers of migrant workers, the area of forestland, participation in cooperatives, and knowledge of forestland locations and boundaries.
