Status quo of the resilience of private college students in Xi’an

Abstract

In this study, it holds that resilience is the ability of the individual, a dynamic psychological trait formed with social practice of good regulation and adaptation to negative events, taking the congenital factor of the individual as the condition of occurrence. There are two important concepts, risk factor and protective factor in the study of resilience. From the external point of view, there are family, social and school environment factors, and the internal refers to the individual’s own characteristics, abilities and cognition. This study aims to study the resilience of college students in private colleges in Xi’an. Taking 498 students from different private colleges in Xi’an as the object of study, this paper explores the present situation of resilience of private college students in Xi’an by means of literature review, psychological measurement and mathematical statistics. The results of this study are: at present, college students generally have some psychological resilience in the face of difficulties and setbacks, but most of them are still in the middle level, while those with high resilience are less; there are some differences in gender and student origin; the internal and external protective factors of resilience are the main variables influencing the development of resilience; among the factors that affect resilience, the influence of peers is generally, while the factors other than school and home school are very influential.
