Optical DRA and its equivalent circuit analysis

&

Abstract

Quantum or optical DRAs are used as optical sensors in healthcare, high speed wireless communication and optical imaging solutions. Concept for monitoring the shift of frequency due to analyte material is being used. In this paper, an analytical modeling with an equivalent mixed R-L-C circuit has been derived for quantum antenna. The resonance frequency, input impedance and quality factor has been evaluated at fundamental and higher order modes. The dynamic impedance found to be frequency dependent due to finite value of Planks constant in mixed circuit. The results have been validated at 5THz, 10 THz and 500 THz. Quantum antenna is very high bandwidth and high Dissipation factor (D.F), can be used for sensors and wide band antennas for high-speed communications applications. Simulation results based on Optical DRAs have been included along with equivalent R, L, C circuit and MATLAB based mathematical analysis.
