Abstract
Cymbopogon nardus was grown on three aspects viz., Northern, North-western and Western at a spacing of 30 cm x 30 cm, followed by three tillage depths viz., minimum (0 cm), medium (up to 10 cm) and deep tillage (more than 10 cm). Plant height, number of tillers per plant, LAI and yield showed significant difference with respect to aspect and tillage practice. Highest growth and yield attributes were found on western aspect under deep tillage condition. Thus, the knowledge and selection of suitable geographical aspect and tillage practice can be helpful in better performance of C. nardus in degraded mountainous areas.
