Abstract
The extract obtained from the fresh flowers of Borago officinalis L. collected in Rajan village, Mergewer district of Urmia, Iran (37.2303 N, 44.5147 E, 1760 m above sea level), on 25 June 2014 were examined by GC and GC-MS. Forty three compounds were identified. The main compound determined in flower extract was Acetic acid, Heptanoic acid, Propanoic acid with 43.19%, 12.03% and 6.83% in the flower extract, respectively. The extract from the flower showed the predominance of the carboxylic acid class which constituted 68.18% in the flower extract. Other classes present in important percentages in the flower were Fatty acids (6.47%) and Ketones (5.83%) in the flower extract.
