Abstract
Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) data has been used extensively in India in various remote sensing application studies. In the field of hydrology, the operational application of TM data has been mostly in (i) flood mapping and flood damages assessment (ii) water resources mapping and (iii) river basin studies. TM data, both images and digital data, have been found to provide comprehensive and valuable Information which will be very useful in planning basinwise water resources development on scientific lines.
