IC設計公司的產能計劃模式

摘要

IC設計乃半導體工業之源頭，而IC設計產業近年來在國內成長相當迅速，但一般對IC設計公司的認識大多僅止於IC產品開發設計、IC線路的軟硬體設計等，很少知道其在設計後所牽涉的製造問題。特別是一般專業IC設計公司很少擁有製造設備，如晶圓加工、封裝設備等，生產大多仰賴外包廠商，這特性造成傳統的生產計劃與管制理念已逐漸發現不適用性，必須要有新的方式來因應。因此，外包產能計畫在IC設計公司已逐漸形成一個新的挑戰。本文主要針對專業IC設計公司的產業背景、生產企劃部門的功能加以介紹，然後特別是探討產能計劃問題，進而提出適合IC設計公司的產能計劃的模式。產能模式中根據生產或市場需求導向之不同角度，進一步提出P、M模式以用來做產能計劃的展開，並探討此二模式的優缺點及在實務上的意義。

Abstract

IC design house is the source of semiconductor manufacturing industry. IC design house is booming recently and it makes a special industry at Taiwan. The basic functions of product development and integrated circuit design at IC design house are well known to people. However, manufacturing management for IC design house is seldom studied in literature. Particularly, IC design house is a virtual manufacturer who do not actually provide manufacturing facility, such as foundry, assembly, and testing house. All of its production function rely on outsoucing manufacturer. As a result, a new production and capacity planning are evolved and facing a new challenge. In this paper, the background and production planning function of IC design house at Taiwan are first introduced. Subsequently, two capacity models, P and M models based on the concept of maximum production and fulfilling marketing requirement, are proposed. An example is presented to illustrate and support the computational procedure of the two models. Finally, we also discuss certain properties of the two models for applications.
