Demetrius on forcible style

Pages 33-42 | Published online: 05 Aug 2016

Abstract

According to Demetrius forcible style should be used whenever the writer/speaker is engaged in argumentation, criticism and whenever strong emotion is at stake. There are many ways forcible style can be brought about, but whatever they are, they haw to abide to the principles of lucidity, naturalness and brevity. Demetrius can make a substantial contribution to the understanding and translation of the Greek New Testament.
