Abstract
Modern Shona poets as artists have contributed considerably to the development of Shona poetry. However, many of their works are yet to be analysed by literary critics. Thus, this paper, which is a preliminary study, focuses on Shona poets' artistry on the basis of observations made on a few modern Shona poets and their poems.
