Abstract

Two new triterpenoid saponins (1 and 2) were isolated from the dried aerial parts of Dianthus superbus L. (Caryophyllaceae). Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral data to be 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl olean-9(11),12-diene-23,28-dioic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1) and 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl olean-11,13(18)-diene-23,28-dioic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2).
