Abstract

A new bile acid tauro-16β-hydroxy-12α-sulfate-5β-cholenoic acid (1), along with six known ones (2–7), was isolated from the snake bile. Its planar structure and relative configuration were elucidated based on extensive spectroscopic analyses. Moreover, compound 2 showed inhibitory effect on NO production in RAW 264.7 macrophages at non-cytotoxic concentration (20 μM) with inhibitory rate of 69.7%.
