G. Piercy

G. Piercy, I am a lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Waikato in Aotearoa New Zealand. My research interests include: employment relations and tertiary/adult education and training, the changing nature of work, work identities and craft. I have investigated apprenticeship systems in New Zealand, Australia and Britain. My PhD research, completed in 2018, united my research interests on identity, the changing nature of work (economy and society) and craft through an investigation into the work identit(ies) of baristas as a case study of interactive service sector work.

B. Cochrane

B. Cochrane, I am a senior lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Waikato in Aotearoa New Zealand. My research interests cover a range of topics including industrial and employment relations, inequality, economic geography and the quantitative analysis of social phenomenon.

M. Law

M. Law, Currently semi-retired Michael Law has a background in Political Science and Adult Education. Michael was a core member for the Centre for Labour and Trade Union Studies when it operated at the University of Waikato 1989-2008. Currently Mr Law works closely with the New Zealand Dairy Workers Union on membership surveys and has advised the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions on a range of issues including employment relations education and workplace learning representatives.
